Journey Home - maternity home needs female volunteers. We need godly women who will come rock babies, participate in our devotional time, run our residents to their appointments, supervise as they cook a meal and generally be a friend.  Mostly you will listen as they guide the conversation at their own comfort level, but there are times when the conversation turns serious, that you may have an opportunity to offer a little godly wisdom. You are always free to share the gospel whenever God leads.

 

We also need godly couples who are willing to come and give our house-parents relief on a weekend from Friday night until Sunday night.  We would like to have enough couples so each one would only serve one weekend every 2 months.  You would be responsible to cook one meal a day, to occasionally take them shopping, to a park or fun activity on Saturdays,  and of course, to bring them to church on Sunday morning. We want our residents to see how couples relate in healthy marriages.   We are also open to a woman who would come and be a relief houseparent occasionally on the weekend.

We are ready to train new volunteers for Journey Home!  We hope all our volunteers will take training. It is mandatory for all those who have direct unsupervised contact with our residents.  If you have not filled out a volunteer application, please do so and return to me before training if possible.  You will find the application  attached to this email.  I have also attached a list of areas where we use volunteers.  The subjects we cover are essential to understand for volunteering at Journey Home and you will find they are helpful in other areas of ministry both in your family or at your church. 

 For those of you who have been through training, you are welcome to come and do a refresher on any or all subjects. Just be sure to rsvp for the classes for which you will be present.
