An Apocalyptic Christmas Story

In this sermon, we will literally walk through the thread of the gospel throughout the Bible – from eternity past to the Garden, to Satan’s attempt to destroy God’s plan to save the world, to the cross, resurrection and ascension, to the continual spiritual battle taking place – here is what I want you to take home today – It is the CRY OF HEAVEN.

How is the enemy overcome? By the “blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony” – maybe the most important verse today – YOU CAN’T SAVE YOURSELF – When you deserved to die because of your rebellion (HEBREWS 9:22), Jesus died in your place, his blood for your blood – and your testimony as a follower of Jesus is simply this: JESUS TOOK MY PLACE – he is the HERO of the STORY, he is the conquering hero, he is the SAVIOR!

Some of you are still trying to save yourself, trying to overcome the enemy’s plan for your life by working to fix your problem, overcome your addiction, be a better person – NOT POSSIBLE – The TRIUMPH over the enemy took place through the shedding of blood on the cross and an empty tomb – and when you receive his blood a payment, Galatians 2:20 says that it’s no longer you but Jesus that overcomes the enemy – it’s RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU.
