The Importance of Worship

  1. God is worthy of our attention. The God of the universe, the one who put all this into motion, is worthy of your time and attention. To not give him full attention just doesn’t make a ton of sense in light of the context of book. Solomon spent 3 of first 4 chapters banging on the futility of life – he has come to the conclusion here in chapter 5, in light of this futility, God might have something better in mind for your life than the plan you have been working. He is creator, you are created.
  2. Be intentional about your connection with God. Solomon says three things: watch your step, draw near and listen. Be intentional, and listen to what He has to say. If you want to hear God’s voice, here is a good formula – it could be that the very floodgates of heaven will be poured out when you carefully and intentionally cozy up to God and listen for His voice
  3. Give God your undivided attention. Most of us are living with a divided heart – we have a work life, family life, social life, spiritual life – God wants you to know that EVEYRTHING IS SPIRITUAL – He wants your complete, undivided attention – remember, He has a great plan to unfold, a transformative life for you to live – begins with a heart to get really close to Him, and listen to what He says.
