PRAYER & COUNSELING

We consider prayer vital to maintaining a healthy, thriving, and intimate relationship with God and others. We pray with grateful hearts to bring God honor and glory. We pray to invite God's will to replace our own, align with Him, and trust His plan for us, which is always better than anything we develop apart from Him. We pray continually as an act of worship and intimacy to receive God's love for us and invite His reign in our life. We rely on the promise He will grant us forgiveness and the ability to forgive those who have wronged us. There is power in prayer and intimacy with God. We invite you to pray with us and welcome the opportunity to pray with you.

OUR PRAYER MISSION

  • The objective of the Prayer Ministry is to create an environment in which people can receive ministry and encounter the love of God.
  • We have the privilege of representing the heart of God to His church by being His hands and feet through prayer.
  • Prayer is always a ministry in process. We have not arrived, and it's always evolving. We desire prayer to reflect our dependence upon and relationship with God.

HEALING/LISTENING PRAYER MINISTRY

We are committed to supporting restoration - health and wholeness in whatever ways God desires. At times we can find ourselves feeling desperate and unsure of how to walk in the freedom in which God intended for us to live. Through a facilitated prayer session, you can begin to take steps toward deeper intimacy with God, experience wholeness and thrive in your God-given identity. If you would like to schedule a session, submit a request below. We usually book one to two weeks out. For more information, contact Leann Francis.

COUNSELING RESOURCES

If you are struggling, feeling broken or looking to get closer to God, we are hear to help. As the hands and feet of Jesus, Restoration Church offers counseling services for individuals, ages 18 and up.

We offer a combination of paid and unpaid services depending on the counselor you choose. For our unpaid pastoral counselors, hours may be limited and we request you make appointments bi-weekly rather than weekly. Please note, counselors at Restoration will regularly recommend our church ministries, re|engage marriage ministryand/or re:generation recovery ministry as a complimentary part of the counseling relationship.

Given that we are a church, our counseling is distinctly Christian and biblical, which means we are governed by the following principles:

  • We are Jesus-centered. We point people to the person of Jesus Christ. People need the Savior more than a system.
  • We are biblical. We use Scripture with a full commitment to its authority and sufficiency to address the needs and struggles of the human condition.
  • We can learn from secular or other counseling methods. While the worldview of secular psychology can run counter to Christianity, our counselors will make use of observations and case wisdom gained from secular research that doesn’t contradict with Scripture.
  • We live and grow in community as image-bearers of God. Support from a loving church community is encouraged and is a crucial part of any person’s growth and change. Isolation and hiding is a significant factor in the struggles people have.
  • We believe people are both spiritual and physical beings. We take the whole person seriously, seeking to remain sensitive to physical factors and the effectiveness of medications as bodily influences do impact moral responses. We do not prescribe medication in our practice.
  • We believe people have been designed to be influenced by their story. We take the person’s whole context seriously and sensitively, and seek to understand their current behaviors in light of their wider story: family upbringing, sufferings, trauma, etc.
  • We believe the incarnation of Jesus is not just the basis for care but also the model for how care is to be administered. Therefore, we seek to enter into a person’s story, listening well, expressing thoughtful love. Such incarnational patience recognizes that a particular season of intentional counseling plays one part within a life-long process of Christian growth.
