Grow Up - Hebrews 5:11-6:12

There are two extremes when it comes to following Jesus. On one hand, there are those who say, “I am saved by God’s grace, so I can do anything I want,” and you use God’s grace as a license to sin.  Today, I hope you see that you can experience spiritual things in your life and still be lost. I call it campfire theology, warming yourself to the Jesus campfire, but when you move away from it, you are ice cold. On the other extreme, there are those who live as if every sinful thought or action robs you of your salvation, and you need to pray to receive Jesus over and over again, as if God’s power to save is limited by your actions and activities.  Both of these views are rooted in SELF, and not in the saving power of our great high priest. The truth is, the proof that you have been transformed is in the fruit of your life, and that month over month, year over year, you are becoming more like Jesus, and it’s EVIDENT by the product of your life. Let’s look at this passage today, and uncover what it means to grow up in your salvation.
