1. SUBMIT to God first, then authority. If god is not first, you don’t have what it takes to submit – there is likely pride and rebellion present.

2. SUBMIT to those who wrong you. This is a Kingdom principle – bless those who persecute you, serve those who oppose you – it's counter-cultural, and impossible without Jesus.

3. SUBMIT because Jesus SUBMITTED. Follow in the footsteps of Jesus. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 6:10-11).

4. SUBMIT, because you are no longer who you were. The theme
of  1 Peter – you were immature, in the dark, lost sheep; now you are in
Jesus.
