What is the meaning of baptism?
Baptism illustrates Christ's burial, resurrection, and our new life as a follower of Christ. "Therefore, we were buried with Him through this baptism into death so that just as God the Father, in all His glory, resurrected the Anointed One, we, too, might walk confidently out of the grave into a new life." (Romans 6:4)
Who should be baptized?
Every person who has believed in Jesus. "Those who believed and accepted His message were baptized." (Acts 2:41) We do not baptize children until they are mature enough to understand the meaning of baptism.
Why be baptized by immersion?
"As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water." (Matthew 3:16) The Greek word "Baptizo" means "To immerse or dip under water." It symbolizes Jesus' burial and resurrection.
When should I be baptized?
"Those who believed ... were baptized ... that day!" (Acts 2:41) There is no reason to wait. As soon as you receive Jesus into your life, you can be baptized.
What should I wear when I am baptized?
Women should wear dark-colored shorts/leggings and dark-colored top that will preserve modesty. Men should wear shorts or a swimsuit and t-shirt. Bring a change of clothes, a towel, and a plastic bag for your wet clothes.
