1. God carries on his legacy through the most UNLIKELY people. While the world may judge you by your circumstances, God never does. In fact, he almost always uses the most unlikely candidate to accomplish his purpose. (Exhibit A)
2. God is attracted to OBEDIENCE. What you may see as mundane is actually the point. Daily, consistent obedience is a key ingredient to receiving from God – it’s not the flashy he uses, but the humbly obedient. Elizabeth Elliot said this:
“God is God. Because he is God, He is worthy of my trust and obedience. I will find rest nowhere but in His holy will that is unspeakably beyond my largest notions of what he is up to.”
God’s plan is above and beyond my understanding, so I obey and leave the plan to him.
3. Don’t give up on God’s promise. Zechariah and Elizabeth were at the end of their life before they saw God’s plan fulfilled – don’t quit before the finish line – (celebrating too soon)
