“Live as God’s slaves…” – this is the ultimate statement: you are a slave to the culture or a slave to God – Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:15-17 that Jesus and prostitutes don’t mix – Jesus and sin are not congruent – you have to make the choice to live in submission to God, obedient to him and his purposes, willing to lay down your desires for his desires to overtake you – This is how you change the world!

1. Reject the patterns of the world. (Romans 12:2) – as followers of Jesus, we are called to live in non-conformity to the world. If you don’t look different, you won’t change the world. Locker room talk won’t change the world. Embracing what Hollywood rolls out won’t change the world. Showing up on Sunday with a hangover won’t change the world. Time for self-reflection.
2. Represent Jesus in ALL THINGS. Bring the CULTURE of HEAVEN into every situation. If you are not in daily intimacy with Jesus, you won’t naturally do this. Jesus will change your affections in the secret place
3. Freedom in Jesus is not freedom TO sin, but freedom FROM sin. Yes, the cross represents forgiveness for all sin, but the cross is a call into a life free from the entanglement of sin
4. Be a slave to God. Life of obedience. He says it, you do it, no questions asked.
