Orphan Sunday 2019
Adoption is not a government idea, it is a God idea – and we need to care more!
1. For some of you, your heart is beating fast right now because you know that God is stirring your heart to foster or adopt – don’t delay getting involved – there is a gathering called FIND YOUR PLACE on Tuesday, November 19th from 630-730 at The Woodlands United Methodist Church where you can get great information on how to get involved in foster care/adoption.
2. Two of the ministries we partner with are focused on orphans, Coreluv and Love Fosters Hope. Click their names to get more information on how you can be a part of our ministry partnerships. This is low hanging fruit, and an easy way to get involved in making a difference in the mandate given to us by God.
3. John and Erin Kadleck have a big heart and experience in orphan care. They are now heading up our Orphan Care ministry at Restoration. They will be happy to answer questions about how you can get involved (just click their name to send them an email).
There is a great story about a Kid walking along beach throwing starfish in the ocean his dad walks up and asks what he is doing . He says, “Saving the starfish.” The dad says, “There are too many. You’ll never make a difference.” The kid throws one in the ocean and says, “I just made a difference for that one.”
As a church, you and your family can make a difference in the one – It is God’s heart that we care for the least of these – He is a Father to the Fatherless, so WE ARE to be Mothers and Fathers to the Fatherless – let’s raise the bar in how we care for the least of these in our community and around the world.
