Repentance Is Our Bullhorn
Matthew 3:1-3
In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” 3 For this is he who was spoken
of by the prophet Isaiah when he said,
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
make his paths straight.’”
4 Now John wore a garment of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist,
and his food was locusts and wild honey.
Malachi 4:5-6
5 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of
the LORD comes. 6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the
hearts of children to their fathers.
Matthew 11:13-14
13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John, 14 and if you are
willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.
Matthew 3:2
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
2 nd Corinthians 12:9-10
9 But he (This is God speaking to Paul about his life struggles) said to me, “My
grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore
I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may
rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses,
insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am
strong.
5 Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going
out to him, 6 and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their
sins.
Matthew 3:9
9 And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I
tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.
Matthew 3:7
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism,
he said to them, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to
come?
Matthew 10:39
39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will
find it.
Matthew 3:11
11 “I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is
mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with
the Holy Spirit and fire.
