You can serve without the desire to influence people, but you can never influence people without the desire to serve. And as disciple-making followers of Jesus, it is our charge to influence people.

When it comes to serving the body, Religion emphasizes the obligation… The Kingdom emphasizes the opportunity. This applies to serving, prayer, giving, spending time with the Lord, and more. When we individually embrace the invitation to pray and serve. We will look up and find that the collective culture of our house is radically different.

We don’t HAVE to serve, we GET to serve.
