So, while this is futuristic, it is very clear that the reward is Jesus himself – for some of you, you have embraced a blessings-based Gospel – Jesus makes it clear: Your reward is ME – this is a present-tense promise as well – when you stop chasing blessings or experiences, you find that Jesus himself is enough – contextually, this church clearly got it, and they were living in the face of persecution – for you and me, because we live in excess, we HAVE, so we WANT – Jesus wants to be enough in your life
What does it look like when Jesus is enough?
1. When Jesus is enough, materialism fades into the background.
2. When Jesus is enough, conversations shift from cultural to spiritual.
3. When Jesus is enough, friends, neighbors, co-workers, family members begin coming into the Kingdom, because they see Jesus in your life.
4. When Jesus is enough, you are less concerned about self, and more concerned about others.
5. When Jesus is enough, your secret place time with Jesus is crucial, not optional. (Matthew 5:6)
6. When Jesus is enough, we change the world, individually and collectively.
